~The Bride & Groom~

What a beautiful day from Heaven above! It snowed 5 inches throughout the day, giving way to some beautiful wedding photography. All wedding photos are courtesy of Toni Price Photography, she is amazing! This shot is in the "Secret Garden" of beautiful, historic Duncan Hall, in Lafayette, IN.
This was the day my oldest son married my floral designer!

~The Bridal Bouquet~

A very unique, hand gathered, slightly cascading, style bouquet of deep Red & Green Cymbidium Orchids, Black Magic & Freedom Red Roses, Super Green Roses, Antique Green & Burgundy Hydrangeas, Green Hanging Amaranthus, Cedar, Carolina Blue Sapphire, accented with beautifully whimsical Peacock Feathers! The stems were wrapped with red double face satin ribbon & pinned with a vintage peacock blue brooch, that belonged to the Groom's Great Grandmother.

~A Kiss Under the Arbor~

Great shot of the Bride & Groom, as well as a beautiful shot of the bouquet!

~The Ladies~
The Bride chose two different styles of dresses in two different colors, to compliment, not only her chosen color palette, but the age appropriateness of her Ladies In Waiting. The ladies in the peacock blue dresses are cousins of the Bride & are both in their 20's. The young ladies in red, are cousins of the Groom, and are both still in their teens.
I love the shot of all of the bouquets on the vintage rug!

~Bridal Table Adornments~
The Bridal Table consisted of 2 8' rectangular tables on either side of a 4' round sweetheart table for the Bride & Groom. They were covered in Peacock Blue Satin table cover & draped across the fronts in Peacock Blue fabric. The tables were adorned with Mercury glass candle sticks & votive cups, in silver, red, & aqua. They sat atop mirrors & were topped with pomanders of deep red carnations, with accents of Super Green Roses. The bridal party bouquets were also laid across the front of the table as part of the centerpieces.

~Centerpiece Fun~

Centerpiece #1 was a large goblet filled with artificial snow, cranberries, winter greenery & peacock feathers. On top was a large bowl filled with mixed winter greenery, red hanging amaranthus, red roses, antique hydrangea, & peacock feathers. They were placed on mirrors & surrounded with red rose petals & votive candles.
We designed two other styles of centerpieces, as well, but I do not have professional photos of those at this time.
One was similar to the one above but was a lower style in a silver mercury glass compote. The other one was a tall cylinder wrapped in red fabric & pinned with a brooch that served as a vessel for Manzanita branches with hanging tea lights & green hanging amaranthus.

The White Iris

The Iris danced across
the ancient Grecian skies. Gliding with her
embossed
satiny milken sides.

Her lithe and nimble limbs moved methodically...
From her cream white petals to her supple stem. The nectar that she carried was transposed into a hymn.

"I must use my moments wisely, for they shall soon pass away... And be lost to me forever... A mere memory of my yesterdays...

"Thus she sung
And thus she cried.
Her voice set to harp
And lyre. So true a call
So true a heart did Zeus himself see...

"Come now unto
Mt Olympus

Oh white Iris,
And our announcer be"...
She floated along
In such a curving grace...
Transposed she was
In time and space...

The blessed arched path
Which she did go,
Became the journey for
All our eternal rainbows.
