Who is The Muse?

About the author: The Muse is a woman with a pen. A writer of note who keeps a secret quill. Her first poetic work to be released was a childrens' story ~ The Little Sprout. A paradox of a woman, her hands are calloused and reverent. They have painted canvases, molded clay, charted geo-spatial trajectories, engineered software, washed puppies, and scrubbed floors. They have wiped away tears and folded in prayer. They have fired missiles and cradled babies.

The Muse proudly claims a kaleidoscopic ancestry of Irish, English, Scottish, German and American Indian. Since her youth, she has been fluent in several languages. An avid bibliophile and logophile, The Muse continues her passion by immersing herself in the written word of various genres. She adores word games especially Scrabble. A self proclaimed lover of life, The Muse, celebrates by inspiring those around her. She is married to her first love, has two adult sons, and is the very proud nanny of several grand-children. The Muse resides with her family on an American Heritage Farm, which has been in their family for over 200 years. Her prose flows from the inspirational South Branch Valley of WV.

"To garner the truth about others is a blessing~To learn the truth about ourselves, is a necessity." (The Muse)

I am extremely proud to call this very talented author my dearest friend & adopted sister, who has awakened a love of poetry, prose & sonnets within my heart.

I encourage you to sit down with a cup of tea & lose yourself on a literary journey like no other. You will find yourself lost in a world of pretty words, written so eloquently, they paint worlds you will long to read more about.

Upon reading her work, you will find that some are filled with love, some with laughter & some are sorrowful, but all sing a song of rising above adversity & always striving to be our authentic self.

My friends, I share with you .......The Muse!

Enjoy!

No greater love...
says the Great book.

It still makes my soul soar to the zenith when I realize how the joy of hearts....the pain of hearts...and the glory of hearts, can be bound in heaven and sent to earth.
Those hearts, belong to sisters.
Sisters made, sisters given.

I will treasure this kindness always!
Love you much SIS :) (HUGS)

The White Iris

The Iris danced across
the ancient Grecian skies. Gliding with her
embossed
satiny milken sides.

Her lithe and nimble limbs moved methodically...
From her cream white petals to her supple stem. The nectar that she carried was transposed into a hymn.

"I must use my moments wisely, for they shall soon pass away... And be lost to me forever... A mere memory of my yesterdays...

"Thus she sung
And thus she cried.
Her voice set to harp
And lyre. So true a call
So true a heart did Zeus himself see...

"Come now unto
Mt Olympus

Oh white Iris,
And our announcer be"...
She floated along
In such a curving grace...
Transposed she was
In time and space...

The blessed arched path
Which she did go,
Became the journey for
All our eternal rainbows.
