~ In My Kitchen Window...Mother's Day ~

On this very special day set aside to honor women as Mothers, I am reminded of the scripture found in Proverbs 31:10-31, that describes the Virtuous Woman.

She is the Godly woman, wife, & mother, that I think, most of us, desire to become during our lifetime. Verse 28 is my favorite reference to Mothers...."Her children arise and call her blessed."
What more could a mother ask for?

Here is what is in my kitchen window this Mother's Day! What is in yours?

Sweetly fragrance Lily of the Valley. How does all that glorious scent come from such a tiny bloom?

One of my very favorite flowers in my yard, the Lilac...reminds me so very much of my maternal Grandmother. Whenever I smell them, I am always transported back to my childhood & my time spent with her & my Grandpa on their farm.

Her row of Lilac bushes outside of the kitchen window would fill the room with that sweet aroma when she would raise the window up & let the spring breeze blow in.
Such sweet memories!

Today I thank God for giving me the opportunity to care for two of his sweetest angels, Evan & Mason. Thank you boys for making me a Mother, I love you both so very much!

All one has to do, is to linger and listen as you talk about your sons...It is obvious the pride and love you have in(and for) them...

How wonderfully written. You are a floral, jewelry "maker, designer" but above all you are a mother-and that has to be the greatest gift! I love being a Mother "most of the time"...and others I feel I fall short-but you remind me that we just have to "be"...
Also I love lilacs too. The house we bought has 2 big ones...1 purple and the other white...
Thanks for a wonderful post.

The White Iris

The Iris danced across
the ancient Grecian skies. Gliding with her
embossed
satiny milken sides.

Her lithe and nimble limbs moved methodically...
From her cream white petals to her supple stem. The nectar that she carried was transposed into a hymn.

"I must use my moments wisely, for they shall soon pass away... And be lost to me forever... A mere memory of my yesterdays...

"Thus she sung
And thus she cried.
Her voice set to harp
And lyre. So true a call
So true a heart did Zeus himself see...

"Come now unto
Mt Olympus

Oh white Iris,
And our announcer be"...
She floated along
In such a curving grace...
Transposed she was
In time and space...

The blessed arched path
Which she did go,
Became the journey for
All our eternal rainbows.
