~Tablescape Tuesday~ Bridal Style!

Today my Tablescape Tuesday is a bit different. I thought I'd show you the 5 different tablescapes we did for a wedding this past October. I'd like to thank Susan of Between Naps On The Porch for hosting this fun parade of tables each Tuesday. Visit her blog to see a complete list of all the ladies who are participating today.

This first shot is of the cake table. When we got there the cake was completely bare. We added the gold ribbon, the green cymbidium orchids, & the amber/gold crystals on the top. It was such a nice change to use the gold cake riser...usually my brides choose to use silver ones.

This an overall shot of the ball room where the reception was held. We used 5 different styles of containers some with flowers, some with just mixed greenery, twigs, leaves, & some with just candle light.

This is one of the gold mosaic glass urns we used just candle light. There was a candle tucked down inside nestled amongst coffee beans. It served as a riser for the 3" cream pillar candles & add an aroma that was not offensive & didn't fight with the delicious smell of the food. It was a scent that would belonged in the room, unlike other types of scented candles. The candles were just a light vanilla scent. They were was placed on rented mirror squares & gemstones were scattered for sparkle. The tiny gold picture frames each had a favorite quote of the bride & groom...sort of a Thank you for sharing in our special day type of quote.

This is another example of a beautiful piece of glass in a champagne color with a crackle finish. It also held a 3" pillar candle nestled in coffee beans with the same table top treatment as the one above.

We also used some simple hurricane glass globes directly on top of the mirror square with coffee beans & this time we used a 3" gold pillar candle to pick up the gold color. A sheer gold ribbon was tied around the top of the hurricane for a nice touch.
For a bit of color & softness we placed 3 green cymbidium orchids around the base of the hurricane.

This centerpiece was designed using green Dendrobium orchids, Circus Orange roses, Sahara blush roses, Sahara, brown Hypericum berries & seeded eucalyptus that had been tinted in rust, burgundy, & gold. Curly willow that we tinted copper was added for height. The container was a gold mosaic glass on a pedestal like the mosaic glass vase below.

The largest of the centerpieces were designed on top of a gold mosaic glass container that sat on a wooden base. We made the centerpieces in a glass design bowl that sat perfectly on top of the mosaic glass.
To achieve the brown shades we needed we used magnolia leaves but flipped them wrong side up. The rest of the arrangement was a mixture of copper curly willow, seeded eucalyptus that was tinted in gold, rust, & burgundy. Green millet & brown broom corn was added for texture.
For an added touch we placed small tap lights inside the glass nestled in coffee beans to illuminate the glass from the bottom.

Custom Champagne/gold colored sheer fabric squares were made to sit under the mirror squares on top of the cream linens. Brown linen napkins completed the table settings.

This was a fun wedding to do...my bride gave me her colors, she purchased all of the glassware we used for all of the centerpieces last year at Pier 1 after Christmas on a 75% off clearance then pretty much let me run with it. This is my kind of wedding complete creative freedom!

The White Iris

The Iris danced across
the ancient Grecian skies. Gliding with her
embossed
satiny milken sides.

Her lithe and nimble limbs moved methodically...
From her cream white petals to her supple stem. The nectar that she carried was transposed into a hymn.

"I must use my moments wisely, for they shall soon pass away... And be lost to me forever... A mere memory of my yesterdays...

"Thus she sung
And thus she cried.
Her voice set to harp
And lyre. So true a call
So true a heart did Zeus himself see...

"Come now unto
Mt Olympus

Oh white Iris,
And our announcer be"...
She floated along
In such a curving grace...
Transposed she was
In time and space...

The blessed arched path
Which she did go,
Became the journey for
All our eternal rainbows.
