~Pink Saturday~ Vintage Floral Prints~

For more Pink Saturday beauties visit Beverly at: How Sweet the Sound

Pictured here are 2 of my favorite vintage finds. I found these two floral prints by Paul de Longpre at one of my favorite antique shops. They are pages from a calender dated 1911.
When I found them, they were just the prints in plastic wrap. I thought that they'd be perfect in my green & pink kitchen, so I had them framed. They now hang proudly in a corner of the kitchen between a bathroom & the dining room. They look great on the green walls & blend nicely with my collection of vintage floral painted dishes.

Here you can see the calender part of the prints. One print represented May/June and the other represented July/August. I would love to see the rest of the prints from that calender, I am sure they were just as beautiful.

Your prints are beautiful! I was lucky enough to find a de longpre print at an estate sale. I need to paint the frame white like yours though. It really sets off those prints.

Happy Pink Saturday! Your pictures are so pretty. I notice that you also follow Stephanie's blog at queen of dreamsz. Do you see her blog updates when you are on your Dashboard page? I don't and we are trying to figure out why that is. So we are curious if others have the same problem.

Beautiful pinks! It was wonderful to take time to "smell the roses"! There is nothing more beautiful than a "re-purposed " vintage treasure! Love the frames!

Your prints are lovely. I have a whole book of rose prints by this artist. I have ment to do something with them, like you so smartly did, but it seems there is always something else to do first!

The White Iris

The Iris danced across
the ancient Grecian skies. Gliding with her
embossed
satiny milken sides.

Her lithe and nimble limbs moved methodically...
From her cream white petals to her supple stem. The nectar that she carried was transposed into a hymn.

"I must use my moments wisely, for they shall soon pass away... And be lost to me forever... A mere memory of my yesterdays...

"Thus she sung
And thus she cried.
Her voice set to harp
And lyre. So true a call
So true a heart did Zeus himself see...

"Come now unto
Mt Olympus

Oh white Iris,
And our announcer be"...
She floated along
In such a curving grace...
Transposed she was
In time and space...

The blessed arched path
Which she did go,
Became the journey for
All our eternal rainbows.
